Théâtre Raymond Kabbaz Presents

Marcio Faraco Quartet concert

In Los Angeles Friday November 13, 2015

Théâtre Raymond Kabbaz (TRK), the performance space at Le Lycée Français de Los Angeles, is pleased to present Marcio Faraco In Concert, accompanied by musicians from both France and Brazil, on Friday, November 13, 2015.

French-Brazilian composer and guitarist Márcio Faraco has quietly built a solid international reputation since the release of his debut solo album in 2000. Sometimes referred to as the “Leonard Cohen of Brazil”, Faraco’s compositions employ a variety of rhythmic styles rooted in the unlimited breadth of Brazil’s musical culture. He has absorbed the pan-global influences of his adopted home in France integrating his gentle samba and Bossa nova with tinges of jazz, African Music and Portugese fado.

He seamlessly finds the delicate balance between simplicity and complexity, tradition and originality while winning over his audiences with his undeniable charm and utter virtuosity.

The early influences on his songwriting Antonio Carlos Jobim, João Gilberto, and Vinicius de Moraes, reverberate strongly throughout his musical compositions. Cajuiero, his seventh and most recent recording, captures Faraco at an inventive peak in his on-going artistic evolution.

He will be joined by fellow Brazilians Gerson Saeki (bass) and Julio Gonçalves (percussion) and French accordionist, Lionel Suarez.

The 75-minute performance will begin at 7:30pm and will take place at Théâtre Raymond Kabbaz, 10361 W. Pico Blvd., Los Angeles CA 90064 (310-286-0553). Admission is $35 for adults and $25 for students. A no host bar will be available.
