gout

Initiated by Jean-Luc Petitrenaud, the first Semaine du Goût (“Week of the Taste”) took place in October 1990 when 350 French chefs gave classes to elementary school students in Paris. Four years later, the event was famous in the whole country with thousands of initiatives in every sphere: restaurants, hotels, supermarkets, schools, and farmers markets. The goal of this event is educational and aims at making everyone discover new flavors and recipes thanks to classes, workshops, demonstrations, and tastings with chefs and producers.

This year is the 26th edition of La Semaine du Goût. TV5 Monde will celebrate this event with special cuisine and gastronomy programs. Practice your French and your recipes with the new TV serie “Chefs” starring Clovis Cornillac, or discover new ways to cook and to prepare simple meals with the Michelin-starred Guy Martin and his Epicerie Fine Cookbook.

With the documentary “Cuisinier d’aujourd’hui”, follow a typical day with the Michelin-starred chef Edouard Loubet who manages the Domaine de Capelongue in Lubéron, in the South of France. For several months, a team followed the chef in his restaurant and his work of creation and research.
