Our Founding member Deloitte just released a study about the U.S. aerospace and defense labor market which announces a growth in this sector by more than 39,000 jobs in 2016.
Despite the sector suffering a decrease in total employment the last few years, Tom Captain, Vice Chairman Deloitte LLP, said, « it continues to be one of the top employers in the US economy ».
According to the study, in 2014, the aerospace and defense sector directly employed 1.2 million worker and another 3.2 million indirectly. The study also highlights the decline that has been affecting the defense sector since 2010, with a decrease of 18% in jobs. The bright side is that employment in the commercial aerospace sector has increased by 17% in the meantime.
